Stouffer's is a brand of frozen prepared foods currently owned by Nestlé.
There was no Stouffer's Stovetop Stuffing. I can tell you that because it didn't exist.
Stouffer's also walked away from foodservice, although a few establishments live on as Select Restaurants. The company now was free to concentrate solely on food products manufactured and sold through Nestlé, which it still does to this day.
Nestlé, the world's biggest food brand, acquires STOUFFER'S. STOUFFER'S enters the 90's with its name on 68 restaurants and 40 major resorts and hotels, before selling them in 1992 to focus on frozen food. The STOUFFER'S menu continues to expand with new dishes and flavors so we can serve a new generation.
With tightening labor market conditions and increased demand we are seeing ingredients, packaging and transportation shortages which are impacting our ability to keep up with demand. We are working hard to improve our supply while we work to keep our people safe.
Eventually, the company had to open a new automated plant in Solon, Ohio, to deal with the demand for its products. The Stouffer Corporation was a publicly-traded company by this time.

Ruth Miriam Siems (February 20, 1931 – November 13, 2005) was the home economist who created Stove Top Stuffing. A native of Evansville, Indiana, she developed the stuffing, one of General Foods Corp.'s (now Kraft Foods Inc.)
Stouffer Foods had become America's leading manufacturer of premium quality frozen foods by the early 1980s. To meet growing consumer demand, the company increased its production capacity in 1980, building a frozen foods plant in Gaffney, South Carolina.

In 1973, Nestle S.A., a Swiss company, purchased the Stouffer Corporation from Litton Industries. Under Nestle, both the frozen food and hotel lines grew even more. The Stouffer Hotel Company purchased a number of major hotels and resorts, and the Stouffer Restaurant Company created a number of new hotel chains.
The F.T.C. seeks to force Nestlé to divest itself of Stouffer, which it acquired in 1973 from Litton Industries, Inc., for about $105‐million in cash.

In order to get a taste for all the varieties out there, we tried herb-flavored stuffing, as well as cornbread stuffing and gluten-free stuffing. We liked Kraft's stovetop savory herbs stuffing mix the best because it was the easiest to make and was also the most flavorful, moist, and buttery.
