How many sheets of paper fit in a 9x12 envelope?
A: About 10-12 sheets.
Most large envelopes containing documents that USPS delivers weigh one ounce or less. Therefore, most manila and large envelopes only require one Forever stamp to send them.

Can I use 2 forever stamps for extra postage?
A USPS Forever stamp is valid to use on a normal-sized, one-ounce letter sent within the United States. If your letter is more than one ounce, it will need additional postage. However, the best solution to mailing a letter over one ounce is not to add another Forever stamp.
My go to pens/markers for black and other colored envelopes are white gel pens, because the white really pops, as well as metallic gel pens or metallic sharpies. For the gel pens – most pen nerds/crafters agree – the two best white ones are the Sakura Glaze and the Sanford Uni-ball pen.

What size cards need two stamps?
Add a stamp for each ounce the card weighs. Be sure to round up. For example, a card that weighs 1.5 ounces would get two stamps. Additional charges may apply if the card is non-machinable, rigid, or oversized.
A standard 8×11 envelope, with a weight of 1 ounce or less, requires one $0. 55 stamp. For each additional ounce, you will need to add an additional $0. 20 to the stamp cost.
Is there extra postage on 5x7 cards? NO. This will fit inside of a standard A7 envelope, which requires no additional postage.
The coat of mailing envelopes is based on weight, not size. If the 5x7 envelope weighs one ounce or less then a forever stamp should be sufficient.
As of January, 2023, If you are mailing a square envelope that weighs less than 1 oz., or a rectangular envelope that weighs between 1-2 oz. (most wedding invitations) domestically, you will need 87¢ worth of postage, or 1 2-ounce “forever” stamp.
What happens if I put 2 stamps on a letter? If you put two stamps on a letter, it will still reach its destination and typically no extra postage will be needed. Chances are, the post office will take the extra stamp and apply it to the next piece of mail they process.

You can get about 10 pages of standard page weight, plus an envelope, for the two ounce rate. Every post office has a scale you can use. Next time you are there, try the different combinations of papers and envelopes that you typically use, so you can learn what weighs what.
