How do you take a primer bulb apart?
Just like that now the primer bulb is held in place by a couple of small tabs I find the easiest way
ANSWER: The primer bulb, which is located in the fuel line between the gas tank and the engine, is used to fill the carburetor with fuel when the engine is started cold. The rubber bulb resembles an oblong ball. Inside the bulb are two valves that open and close.
So you just need to basically pinch it together like this and it will come right out of the right
Primer bulbs are often located on or near an engine's carburetor. Especially in the case of primer bulbs located on the carburetor, you can save yourself time on future repairs by replacing the bulb when dismantling and cleaning the carburetor anyway.

When the primer bulb isn't working, it may be a problem with the bulb itself, with the fuel lines that feed fuel to the bulb or both. Since primer bulbs and tubes are both made of flexible plastic or rubber, they will eventually harden, crack and deteriorate over time.

Depending on how often the little machine starts and its age, the inside of the bulb will eventually get gooey, causing it to stick. If a brittle bulb cracks around the seal, air will leak out the side rather than force fuel from the tank into the bulb, also causing a collapse.
Bypassing a primer bulb is simple. Just disconnect the carb line and plug it with a ball bearing to seal it entirely. Then, connect it back to the carb. Ensure that any possible air leakage spots are dealt with properly.

How do you bypass a primer bulb on a lawn mower?
In order to start your mower without a primer, squirt starter fluid directly into the carburetor via the air intake. Simply remove the air filter cover, take out the air filter, and squirt starting fluid into the air intake nozzle. Quickly replace the air filter, and start your mower. It should start straight away.

A primer bulb is important because it is helps to fill the carburetor with the correct amount of fuel. It does this by pulling fuel through the fuel line. You may need to fix or replace your primer bulb if: It is not creating proper suction.
The bulb is NOT suppose to stay hard. It only delivers the fuel to the engine. Then the two check valves open and allow fuel to flow. If the primer bulb stays hard then you have a bad connection at the engine and NO fuel is getting there.
How It Works. Pressing the primer bulb creates a vacuum that sucks gas from the fuel tank through the fuel lines and into the carburetor. Pressing the primer only a couple times should supply enough fuel to mix with air in the carburetor, and be ready for combustion.
Outboard engines lose fuel prime because of an air leak in the fuel system. Somewhere between the engine and the fuel tank.
Why is gas leaking from the primer bulb?
It could be a worn rubber gasket inside the carburetor or a bad float needle. The fuel line might have a hole or could be clogged with debris. The problem might lie with the fuel filter or fuel pump.
The (clear) fuel intake line runs from the top of the carburetor (straight nipple) and goes to the short post on the back of the primer bulb. The return line (blue) comes from the long post on the back of the primer bulb and goes into the bottom of the fuel tank.
The purpose of the primer pump is to pump sufficient fuel from the supply tank to the engine and particularly to the injectors of a diesel engine to enable the engine to be cold-started without excessive use of the electrical system which normally operates the fuel pump.

First, connect the fuel line to the engine, if not already attached, then pump (squeeze) the bulb repeatedly until it's firm. It usually only takes a few pumps. When the bulb is firm, the line is charged and you can start the engine.
